Students often ask if there is a particular way to breathe for certain movements in the Feldenkrais Method. The answer is, “It depends!” Sometimes we combine certain breathing patterns with the movements, sometimes we just sense the breathing in conjunction with the movements.
The aim of Awareness Through Movement is just that: awareness. But awareness can bring about change. In this series we will consider the fine line between awareness and conscious change when it comes to breathing, and explore how those learnings can be applied to other activities.
Maria Meindl became fascinated by the simplicity and power of The Feldenkrais Method in the early 1980s.
