We can be alert and engaged, yet relaxed and calm – even in these stressful times. Recent research sheds light on how our particular vagal nerve function is thought to have evolved and why. This information adds to our understanding of its role in self-regulation and co-regulation and discusses how and why to “tone” it. These classes will explore numerous yoga practices that are key to effectively employing this vital aspect of our nervous system.
