June 19 – 26, 2023, with Monica Voss
I visited Turkey in 1973 and felt so welcome, I stayed for 6 months. I have been back since, but not to the south-west, an area full of memories of authentic hospitality, curious open-hearted, generous people, delicious food and unspoilt forests and seashore. Join me on a sentimental return to a kind, ancient place.
ECO YUVA YOGA CENTRE
The Eco Yuva Centre yoga retreat centre is perched on a hillside hidden in pine woodlands near the sea in south-west Turkey. It is a simple, rustic venue run by Atilla Sevilmis and his family who have offered yoga holidays since 1998. (www.ecoyuvaretreats.com)
Two yoga classes will be offered each day – early morning and early evening (except on the full excursion day) – all of which are optional. The classes are designed to accommodate students of many levels of experience and ability. All welcome.
Turkish cuisine is fresh and tasty and Eco Yuva specialises in healthy home-made and locally sourced vegetarian and vegan food. Organic fruit and vegetables from their own garden are used when available. Special diets are catered for, with prior arrangement.
Enjoy the rich environment and warm and hospitable culture on a full day boat trip, by walking, hiking, swimming and beach exploration, and when visiting the local hammam and shops in a nearby village. The terrain is sometimes steep and sometimes rough – please bring sturdy sandals or walking shoes and enquire before registering if you have limited mobility.
For more details of the centre, please check www.ecoyuvaretreats.com.
