Our focus in yoga based on Vanda Scaravelli’s study is awareness and elongation of the spine. Sometimes our concentrated search for longitudinal release actually creates unexpected tension. In this workshop, we’ll discover whether stretching and stabilizing the corners of the body – the hip and shoulder joints – helps take the spotlight off the spine and indirectly allows it to relax, soften and lengthen by itself. We’ll apply this experiential theory to standing, sitting, inverting and lying down. Guided relaxation and breath practice always included. All are welcome.
