Mindfulness and self-compassion are said to be two wings of the same bird. Traditional Buddhist and Yogic teachings in self-compassion are powerful and elegant, and can be interwoven with contemporary evidence-based clinical practices to address such issues as self-criticism and low self-esteem. The Brahma Viharas (Divine Abodes), include Loving Kindness, Compassion, Happiness for Others and Equanimity. In this workshop, we will focus on practical methods for supporting the development of self-compassion and increased happiness. There will be instruction, meditation and time for discussion on the application of these tools to your daily life. Please bring a pen and paper. No experience with yoga or meditation necessary.
