Toronto Intensives at Esther Myers Yoga Studio

Our Yoga Intensives are for yoga practitioners at every level of experience. Intensives give time and space for in depth posture and breathing practice.  Yoga Intensives may occur for a few hours, a full weekend or at the same time daily over the period of a week; offering the opportunity to drop deep inside, and explore the relationship of body and mind. An intensive gives each student more time to learn, feel and understand the rejuvenating approach to yoga taught at our Studio.

Moving with Mudras Intensive

8:00am-9:15am, $90/week,  $20/day

“Mudra” usually refers to positions of the body, hands, and eyes. Mudra practice needs no prior preparation. Join us as we learn the full-body mudras and some sequences for our hands and wrists. Open to all levels.

Freeing the Sides

Monday, July 17 – Friday, July 21, with Tama Soble
8:30am-9:45am, $90/week or $20/day

Side stretching and bending frees the spine, the ribcage and the breath, enhancing comfort and ease in the body. We will practise this often neglected movement pattern and take time to reflect on the experience.

Take time just to breathe. This intensive includes basic breathing exercises (pranayama) as well as a variety of breath awareness, relaxation and meditation techniques. Everyone welcome.

Summer is a great time to enjoy leisurely activities like hiking, running, tennis and walking the beach, and we want the knees, hip flexors and low back to cooperate. So don’t let lower body tension stop you from enjoying your outdoor summer fun. Let loose with this hip releasing series.  We’ll focus on releasing tension in and around the hip joints to alleviate low back pain, improve  range of motion, lengthen your stride and launch you into warm weather activities.

Staring at screens, driving in traffic, carrying heavy bags … these are just a few of the activities that can leave shoulders feeling burdened and stuck. Wouldn’t it be nice to lighten up? This series of five Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement® lessons will restore mobility to your shoulders, neck and chest, and help you find support from your pelvis and spine. No experience is necessary for this series.

Email (please do not include credit card information).

Please arrive 10 minutes early in order to complete a registration form and health history.

Cancellation policy: With more than 48 hours notice, you will receive credit towards classes or workshops in the same term. The Studio cannot give refunds. U.S. credit card transactions will be processed in Canadian dollars at the current exchange rate.
