  • Breathing Meditations Class Series...NEW!

    Wednesdays, May 1 - 22with Monica Voss
    6:15pm–7:30pm, $64/series

    Take time just to breathe. These classes include basic  breathing exercises (pranayama) and a variety of breath awareness, relaxation and meditation techniques as well as Q&A and discussion. All are welcome.
    Registration is limited for this class series. 

  • Yoga for Insomnia Class Series

    Thursdays, May 2 - 23, with Lauren Anastasi
    8:15pm- 9:30pm, $64 for 4 weeks

    Explore asana and pranayama practices which support rest and relaxation. We will incorporate restorative yoga, yoga nidra (guided relaxation) and practices that can be done in bed and in preparation for sleep. These classes are appropriate for students at all levels.

  • Labour Preparation for Singles, Couples and Friends

    Stretching, breathing, back care, positions for labour and hands-on assisting. Come solo or with a partner or friend.


  • Home Practice Clinic...NEW!

    12:30pm- 3:00pm, $43

    If a yoga class offers inspiration, stimulation and group support, practising yoga at home is the seat of continuing education, a pleasure and a respite for any practitioner, and a necessary resource for teaching.
    We’ll discuss and explore numerous strategies for establishing and refreshing our home practice. Bring your ideas, questions and notebooks.
    Included in the cost is one month’s unlimited use of Studio R (tatami space), upon availability.

  • Swimming Dragon Qi Gong...NEW!

    Sunday, May 26, with Donna Oliver
    2:30pm- 4:30pm, $38

    The Swimming Dragon Qi Gong is named for the serpentine movement of the body which resembles a Dragon swimming.
    It is very effective for stimulating the free flow of Energy and Blood throughout the body while breaking up any stagnation that might be present. This Qi Gong exercise also helps maintain the strength and flexibility of all the joints including the spine and regulates the endocrine system. In addition, practising this exercise helps to strengthen all the internal organs and benefits the Kidney energy.

  • Heart and Stroke Heartsaver AED CPR Level C

    Friday, May 31, with Vera Stambolic
    12:00pm-3:30pm, $75

    This workshop will teach you how best to respond to a life threatening situation. You will learn how to provide accurate and effective cardio pulmonary resuscitation, how and when to use an Automated External Defibrillator, and how best to assist a choking victim. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive The Heart and Stroke Heartsaver AED CPR C certification.

  • Giving and Receiving*

    In our relationship to ground we are continually cycling between giving our weight and receiving support. The way we contact with the hands and feet has a deep impact on the way we organize through our spine. In this workshop we will explore the felt sense of this balance by combining movement experiences with discussion and basic anatomical review. Some time will be spent exploring the simple act of giving and receiving as a body gesture, when these principles are practised.

  • A Day of Yoga and Meditation, Exploring Breath by Breath

    In this workshop we will draw our inspiration from the Anapanasati Sutra of the Buddha - the Sutra on the Mindfulness of Breathing. As we explore asana, seated meditation and pranayama with focussed attention to the breath throughout, we will practise deepening our experience of the present moment. This day is suitable for students of all levels of experience.

  • Art and Yoga for Young People Class Series...NEW!

    Fall dates TBA, with Sarah Hunter and Monica Voss
    for ages 10-14, 4:15pm-5:45pm, $150 + $25 materials fee for 5 weeks

    In these classes, we’ll explore a variety of projects inspired by the practice of yoga with an emphasis on imitating animal postures and movements. The art materials will include collage, wire sculpture, paper cut-outs and 3 D materials. Let’s combine movement and artistic expression and enhance creativity and joy! Beginners are welcome!

Cancellation policy: With more than 48 hours notice, you will receive credit towards classes or workshops in the same term. The Studio cannot give refunds. U.S. credit card transactions will be processed in Canadian dollars at the current exchange rate.
