OPEN HOUSE FOR THE YOGA TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAMME - October 2012 - June 2014
For those interested in becoming a yoga teacher, enhancing a previous training or simply deepening their own practice and knowledge. We offer a uniquely organic approach to yoga practice and teaching. Our programme combines asana, pranayama and meditation with lecture, discussion, and practicum to create a balanced outlook that will enliven all aspects of your teaching and your approach to the body/mind. You are supported, encouraged, and empowered to question and explore, to find your own path and voice.

INTRODUCTION TO THE YAMAS AND NIYAMAS with ANA BODNAR
In this workshop, we will review the Yamas and Niyamas as they are outlined in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and then reflect on them using various translations, including a commentary from a women's, heart-centred perspective. We will discuss how the Yamas and Niyamas continue to be vibrant and engaging in our current times, and how they apply to our teaching and our lives.

Spend a weekend exploring all aspects of the spine - its anatomy, its connection to the breath, its energy, movement and texture, the imagery that has traditionally supported it.
To tease out our previous knowledge of the spine and assimilate new ideas, we'll use lecture, asana practice, discussion, partner work, breathing practice, relaxation techniques and meditation.
Please bring writing and drawing materials, your favourite anatomy book or poem to augment your own and everyone's learning.
